Steeped in elegance, infused with Wes Anderson's visual charm, and accentuated by a love for gardening, this extraordinary celebration of love took guests on a captivating journey like no other. With Dave and Maura's shared history at UT Law School and their beloved dog Finn as cherished participant, this wedding weekend was destined to be a truly unique and memorable experience.
I had the pleasure of capturing their engagement photos during an Adventure Session in Joshua Tree National Park at the beginning of 2019. We connected over the outdoors, adventure, love for dogs, and food. Being able to spend time with Dave, Maura and Finn allowed us to connect prior to their big day, which allowed me to capture so many candid moments with ease during their wedding festivities
Montesino Ranch, The Perfect Hill Country Lux Wedding Venue
Nestled amidst the serene rolling hills of Texas, Montesino Ranch provided an enchanting backdrop for Dave and Maura's wedding festivities. With its rustic yet refined charm, the venue perfectly captured the essence of the couple's vision. The lush greenery, vibrant wildflowers, and beautifully manicured gardens offered an idyllic setting for their weekend experience.
Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party, A Wes Anderson-Inspired Affair
Drawing inspiration from the whimsical aesthetic of Wes Anderson's movies, the wedding exuded a distinctive charm that left guests captivated. From the meticulously curated color palette to the fine-tuned attention to detail, every element evoked a sense of playfulness and nostalgia. Hints of pastel hues, plaid patterns, and vintage decor elements created a visual setting that was surreal.
Garden-Inspired Wedding Day with Infused Jewish Traditions
Dave and Maura's shared passion for gardening played a significant role in shaping their wedding celebration. The venue's sprawling terrain was adorned with intentional garden-inspired floral arrangements, showcasing a wide array of vegetables and herbs.
Anticipation filled the air as guests gathered along the riverside under a simple chuppah adorned in fall-toned bloom. With Finn, the couple's adorable dog front and center resting on Maura’s dress throughout the ceremony, love, and joy radiated with the beautiful sunlight. Maura and Dave chose to enter the ceremony together, walking hand in hand along the river bank which added an extra touch of enchantment.
Following the heartfelt ceremony, guests enjoyed an alfresco cocktail hour on the lawn adjacent to the barn savoring artisanal cocktails. A lifesize crossword puzzle was on display for guests to fill in. This was created by the groom as a special surprise to the bride with keywords from their first date. The reception, held on the lawn under the stars featured a sumptuous feast prepared by a renowned local chef, complemented by a curated selection of fine wines that were selected by the couple. The couple chose to incorporate two significant rituals into their wedding, each holding deep meaning and representing their commitment and shared values. They danced the 7 circles ritual and closed their ceremony with the beloved breaking of glass where all guests shouted out Mazel Tov in excitement for the new union of the couple. Once the dancing began they quickly immersed guests into the lively tradition of the Hora where guests follow the bride and groom through a maze of excitement and fun ending with them tossed above the crowd in armchairs with their most cherished friends holding them up. The evening culminated in a lively dance party, with guests reveling in the celebration of love.
