Do you care about real moments? Are you eloping or having a small wedding and want a video to capture your special day via a timeless medium?
These are some of the reasons why I started shooting Super 8 during COVID in 2020. Many of my couples were eloping just the two of them in beautiful settings during the pandemic, without family and friends, so having a video to capture the day in a unique way became priceless. Since then, I’ve offered Super 8 elopement and small wedding films.
What is Super 8?
These films are crafted using an old Super 8 camera and various Kodak 8mm film. You will hear the movement of the film as I shoot, which brings about a truly unique final product, with light leaks and film grain.
How does this affect the schedule of my day?
When shooting Super 8 alongside photo, my primary focus is capturing key moments with photo while also having the Super 8 in hand as well. I balance my time between the both, but Super 8 is often what I call “B roll.” The Super 8 footage fills in the gaps of the story! I won’t make you re-create moments, just to capture them again on the Super 8, like most videographers. Your moments will be captured in real-time.

+ How long will my film be?
Videos average 2-4 minutes in length, depending on the hours of coverage you have photo booked with me!
+ Do I get to pick my film?
I offer color and black and white film. I select the film that will best capture your day, factoring in the terrain, events and atmosphere!
+ Are Super 8 films only offered as add-ons to my elopement or small wedding?
Yes! I currently only offer Super 8 films for elopements, small wedding days and traditional weddubgs!
+ How will I receive my film?
A digital copy will be mailed to you via a USB and also delivered digitally on Vimeo (a video hosting site like YouTube) where you can watch, share, and download the video. You will also be sent the original film that is developed!
+ When will I receive my film? What is the turn around?
The Super 8 film has to be mailed off and it does take anywhere from 6-10 weeks to be developed, before it’s shipped back to me for editing. Once the film is received, it take 4-6 weeks for me to edit before final delivery.
+ How much does a film cost?
Elopements: $1,800 for a 2-4 minute video
Small Weddings and Traditional Weddings:
4 hours - $2,800, 2-4 minute video
6 hours - $3,200, 3-5 minute video

+ Why are Super 8 films just as expensive as digital?
Super 8 film is expensive and can be difficult to find at times. There has been a shortages due to supply chain issues, increasing the cost of film. Depending on the film selected, film can range from $40-65 a roll. The film then has to be shipped off and developed. The average cost of having one roll of film developed is $60. These items are not present with digital media!
