Surprise Destination Wedding at El Matador Beach in Malibu, California

Can you imagine getting engaged and married in one day?! That’s exactly what Michael planned for Kassidy, with the help of his mom (Melissa) and myself. Let me start from the beginning…

Kassidy reached out to me about her and Michael eloping in April 2019 at Big Sur, CA, which I was so excited about! After a few days of exchanging emails, I received a call from Melissa, informing me of the surprise destination wedding they wanted to plan for Kassidy. That’s right…surprise proposal and wedding, all in one day. I met with Michael and Kassidy about their “elopement” a few weeks after, playing along with everything, but secretly trying to gather information to help us plan. Little did Kassidy know, we would spend months having her pick out her wedding dress, florals, bridesmaid dresses, the list goes on!

Not only did Kassidy have the dress of her dreams, but her closet friends and family traveled from all over the US to be at their destination intimate wedding weekend at El Matador Beach in Malibu, CA. After months of emailing and phone calls, Melissa and I solidified the location and logistics of the day. Spending time with my clients and their families the day before is one of my favorite parts! It allows me to really connect with them before the craziness!

The day was filled with numerous surprises, including family members being introduced with special gifts along the way. Kassidy wanted Michael’s grandfather to marry him and he did just that. Michael planned the most thoughtful day for Kassidy and I’m so flattered I got to capture their day!
