Where do I start with this epic modern intimate wedding in Marfa?! Adventuring around Marfa with Gentry and Chris was definitely a highlight! They stayed at the Hotel Paisano with their family and friends but decided to spend the day exploring Marfa together and visiting some of their favorite spots before tying the knot at Calera Chapel, outside Marfa. They wanted to enjoy time together in a relaxed manner, taking advantage of the time for photos as well! These two are so in love and have a zest for life! My favorite part of capturing their story was how collaborative they were. It felt like I was hanging out with two friends as we visited El Cosmico and the Lost Horse Saloon! These two had a point and shoot film camera with them that I was able to use as well. I loved collaborating with Gentry and Chris in such a creative way! They were so relaxed and themselves the entire day! Just like an intimate wedding should be and feel.
Perhaps the sweetest part of the day was Gentry’s brother marrying them at Calera Chapel. His words were encouraging and could have not been more reflective of the journey ahead! After the wedding ceremony and everyone leaving, Gentry and Chris exchanged personal vows and asked that I stay at a distance. I’m always happy to give couples space. Photos aren’t the most important thing on a wedding day.
The intimate wedding ended with a laid back dinner and reception at Hotel Paisano. I can feel the love and joy in their photos as I look through them. I hope you can too!

Hotel Paisano
This is a charming and historic hotel in the middle of Marfa, close to restaurants and shops. This is an ideal location for accommodations everyone can afford.
Calera Chapel
This historic church can be rented out for a minimal fee. The small adobe chapel has a lot of character without decor, so you can simply show up and have a beautiful wedding ceremony without a big investment. You are also allowed to bring in your own decorations, such as florals, rugs, among other things to personalize your day, which I highly recommend to all my couples, make your wedding day yours.
El Cosmico
This place is a real gem! I love the eclectic bohemian West Texas nomadic hotel that radiates Austin vibes. You can rent yurts, teepees, tents, and trailers, so there’s an option for everyone! It would be ideal to have an intimate wedding and have everyone stay on sight for ease!
