I had the privilege of shooting this epic intimate wedding weekend with Hereafter Films at Corte Del Norte in Marfa, TX before we headed to Big Bend National Park for a day-after session. Kayla and Josh are two kindred souls with lots of style and class. It’s not surprising their day was full of character and reflective of who they both are individually and as a couple. Close family and friends surrounded them as they exchanged vows outside just outside the city at Le Tierra and celebrated at Corte Del Norte, a small wedding venue in Marfa. I can still hear songs from Midland and other folky, western groups playing in the background.
A few days after, we all met up in Big Bend National Park for a day-after session, exploring the park. Day-after or portrait sessions after the wedding day are some of my favorite things. The couple is relaxed and fully present at the moment, without any pressure or time constraints. You’ll see film shots in this blog post, which I really loved shooting. Shooting film gives me a new level of artistic freedom.
About the Location - Corte Del Norte
This hotel is a unique combination consisting of three houses within walking distance of Marfa’s main shops, galleries, and restaurants. The eclectic space allows for multiple people to all stay on sight, which is always a plus. They also have onsite catering provided by Para Llevar! The space has a lot of character while also being a clean slate. This is a personal favorite of mine!
