South Congress Hotel Intimate Modern Wedding in Austin, TX , Drew and Jenna
Austin, Texas Intimate Wedding Photographer
Jenna and Drew had a small fall wedding with their closest family and friends at the South Congress Hotel in Austin, TX. Their day was laid back yet full of emotion. From their personal wedding vows during the ceremony to toasts during the intimate wedding reception, I’m not sure I’ve ever cried so much at a wedding. The words shared about them as individuals and as a couple are a testament to their character. During the months of wedding planning, I got to know them both and can attest that every word shared during their day was heartfelt!
Jenna is a wizard at flowers and made all the floral arrangements for their intimate wedding day! Scroll slowly through the wedding photos to see her beautiful work! I keep encouraging her to start a floral business or assist a florist to learn more about the craft. She has a true gift! For all the DIY brides out there, I highly suggest looking into Petal Driven for flowers. You can order florals and assemble bouquets yourself as Jenna did. I’m a firm believer that you can have an intimate wedding with beautiful details, like florals, no matter the size of your wedding day!
Jenna thought of every detail to create a clean, cohesive and modern look for her and Drew’s wedding. Jenna’s mom even made custom earrings for her. The day was beautiful, but the individual moments of the day were priceless! Drew’s dance with his mom was my favorite part. The photo of them singing into microphones captured the moment perfectly.
About the Location - South Congress Hotel
South Congress Hotel is one of my favorite wedding venues in Austin, TX! The hip atmosphere creates the perfect setting for a small wedding or elopement. I’ve been to South Congress Hotel many times, yet I always discover new photography ideas I want to try out. The South Congress Hotel offers modern and intimate vibes with delicious food and excellent service.
Jenna and Drew selected to have their wedding ceremony and reception at Central Standard, also part of the South Congress Hotel. Space is very intimate there, perfect for their small gathering and created a romantic setting for dinner and drinks.
If you’re looking for a modern wedding venue that has clean lines and personality, I would encourage you to check out South Congress Hotel. The area has numerous vacation rental options if guests want to stay elsewhere. Also, guests will enjoy the many top-tier restaurant options, including Vespio, a romantic Italian restaurant with fabulous food.
I always love walking out of the hotel and seeing South Congress Avenue, which leads to the Capitol Building downtown. The vibrant neighbourhood has a little something for everyone with shopping, music venues and the nearby Lady Bird Lake. Take an evening stroll on SoCo (South Congress) to see the beautiful views at sunset is one of my favorite thing to do!
Below are some words from Jenna and Drew about working with me:
“Is there a way to give someone more than five stars?? Nicole was THE best investment we made when planning our wedding. With hundreds of photographers in the hill country area, it was fate that we found her. Leading up to the wedding she offered guidance and quickly responded to every email and text. She even made time to meet us in person to get to know us and our style. No matter the detail, big or small she listened...truly listened and you can just tell when talking to her love for photography and weddings is genuine. She was instrumental in planning our day-of timeline, and the guidebook she sends out to her couples is not only beautiful and easy to follow but really makes you think about what will truly be important to you on your wedding day.”
“At our wedding, she kept the whole day on track. We didn’t have a wedding planner and I think a large part of our wedding day success was due to Nicole’s organization. She seamlessly moved from bridesmaids photos to family photos to couples portraits and it never felt awkward. She was front and center when she needed to be, telling guests to assemble and then blending into the background to take stunning candids. We had a guest tell us she was like a sneaky ninja haha. Nicole also has such a calming presence. She’s a breath of fresh air and as a bride, that’s the kind of vibe you need to surround yourself with. She set our minds at ease throughout the whole process. We were able to forget we were being photographed and just enjoy our day.”
“Nicole’s artistry is unmatched! Just take a peek at her website or Instagram and you’ll see what I mean. She sent us our previews within a couple of days following our wedding and they made us so happy and grateful we chose her to work with. Then when we received all of our pictures we spent an hour on the couch looking through them all and reminiscing over the fond memories. She does a lovely job capturing emotion and there wasn’t a single picture she sent us that we didn’t love. If you are looking for someone who will give you beautiful memories of your wedding day look no further. We will forever treasure our pictures and I think you will too!”
